National Aboriginal Day Advertisement

For Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society Co-op (2014)

Type: Graphic Design and Marketing

Tools: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator

Goal: It was a solo graphic design and marketing project for VACFSS (Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society) and National Aboriginal Day.

Task: My task as the main graphic designer was to produce the final look for poster, billboard sign, and message for the community who participated in the event. The marketing materials consists of print materials, digital materials and social media posts through Twitter, Hootsuite and Facebook. Also, it was posted on National Aboriginal Day's official website. During the actual event, I worked as a photographer. Using Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Lightroom), I improved the pre-existing drafts for the posters for 2014 National Aboriginal Day.

Challenge: The content on the poster and billboard had to be adjusted to make sure it has appropriate font size, image quality, legibility and amount of information.

Result: In the end, I was able to create marketing materials incorporating Indeginous community's art style to promote National Aboriginal Day.
